- Passport
- Spanish dictionary and/or phrase book
- One pair of work gloves and one pair of rubber gloves
- Paint brush and or roller/roller covers to use/donate
- Protective eyewear
- Individual waterbottle
- Flashlight
- Clothing, school supplies and/or toys for children (optional)
- Work clothes for construction and painting - in San Jose it's better to wear long pants
- Swimsuit depending on lodging and fun excursions
- Closed toed walking shoes or hiking boots
- Old closed toed shoes for work
- Sandals
- Shorts
- Long pants and light jacket for cooler weather depending on worksite and fun excursions
- Raincoat
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- Small backpack for daily use and fun excursions
- Binoculars, a camera and film (optional)
- Toiletries
- Beach towel and bath towel
- Pillow, pillow case and extra blanket if lodging in church center/seminary
- Necessary medications
- Money for extra meals, excursions, snacks, souvenirs, etc.
- Travel alarm clock
- An open heart and desire to help the poor and experience the culture
